Introduction of Nepalese Currency

INTRODUCTION OF CURRENCY AND IT'S ALTERATION

Introduction
Currency generally refers to a term "Money". Money is the medium of  exchange for goods and services in the form of coins or paper notes. This is the reform made by our ancestors. Previously, there was barter system to make exchange of commodities. It created a lot of difficulty and loss to one party. To avoid this difficulty currency was introduced. It made the exchange of goods and services more better and effective. All countries have their own designs and style of introducing their currencies. Several values of coins or paper notes were given.

Change in Nepalese Currencies
  •   Coins
  •   Paper notes
Coins :  Coins were issued by Malla King which would be made from silver and weighted of 10 grams. Basically, people in Nepal consider "Mananka" the coin introduced by King Mandev during his regime. Past rulers made coins of silver as well as other metals like brass, copper, etc. were formed assigning value in it. Similarly, it  consists of the rulers name, duration of regime and a logo. With the change in dynasty/King the coins were also different.

Paper notes : After coins the introduction of paper note was also made. King Tribhuwan in 1945 printed at India Security Press in Nashik, Maharastra which were called Mohru. These notes were rich in color and decorated with pictures of several animals like tiger, deer, etc.

Later on in the present time after the end of kings rule certain change is brought in the paper notes. Some of the changes that can be easily noticed are king's photo is replaced with the mountain and logo of rhododendron is also a change. So if we go deep many changes are found.
